Starting with the packaging, the Nord 5 comes in a typical blue box that we have come to expect from Nord devices. Also typical for a Nord box is the fact that there is no mention of the exact model number on the front, which makes it look identical to other Nord boxes until you turn them around.

Inside the box you will find the phone, an 80W fast charger, and a USB cable for data and charging. OnePlus also includes a silicone case in dark gray.

Our review unit comes in the Marble Sands finish, which features light champagne gold frame and a glass back. The back panel has a very interesting pattern etched into it that invokes the creases and bumps in the surface of marble and almost looks three-dimensional with the way it plays with light. It’s a fantastic look that proved to be very challenging to capture on camera and has to be seen in person to be properly appreciated.

However, while the back of the phone is this very exotic glass, the frame is made out of plastic. This feels like a downgrade from Nord 4, which was made out of a single, solid slab of aluminum and felt very premium.

You may have also noticed that the Nord 5 has a vertical camera arrangement on the back. The Nord 4 used a horizontal layout but the Nord 5 reverts to the vertical layout that all other Nord phones have used over the years.

The Nord 5 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, making it the first Nord phone to have a flagship-grade chip. It also features a 50MP Sony LYT-700 camera with OIS on the back and a 50MP camera Samsung JN5 camera with autofocus on the front. The display also supports up to 144Hz refresh rate in games like BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile.
