If you agree that a clean home is a happy home, then the Tineco PURE ONE Station 5 is a tool for your happiness. This powerful stick vacuum has great battery life, anti-tangle brushes, multiple attachments for whole-home cleaning, and a big dust-collecting base station for a hassle-free clean.
Dyson has a respectable track record in the stick vacuum market, and their V11 Origin is a powerful cleaning tool. Both of these vacuums have interchangeable heads and brushes, operate wirelessly, and offer whole-home cleaning. Let’s put them to the test to see how they compare.
Smart docking station with dust bin

Tineco PURE ONE Station 5
The first and biggest difference between the Tineco PURE ONE Station 5 and the Dyson V11 Origin is that the PURE ONE Station 5 includes a convenient docking station with a large debris collection container. With a 2.5L capacity, you can enjoy several weeks, or even months, worth of maintenance-free cleaning.
The Tineco PURE ONE Station 5 was built to be a clogless system, which means it features larger tubes and pathways to ensure debris passes cleanly. This includes a large connection port to the station. All debris in the vacuum is effortlessly evacuated into the station every time you dock it.

The Dyson V11 Origin does not have a base station, just a charger. You must manually disassemble and clean the V11 Origin every time the canister starts to fill up.
Full self-cleaning system

Not only does the Tineco PURE ONE Station 5 station empty the collected debris from the PURE ONE Station 5, it also performs a powerful self-cleaning cycle. You do not need to disassemble the unit — simply place it on the base station and the cleaning brushes, tubes, filters, and dust bin are cleaned by multiple cyclones of air.
Clogged filters are the number one reason for reduced air flow, resulting in reduced suction power. The PURE ONE Station 5 uses a 12-stage filtration system, which the self-cleaning cycle keeps clean, including a HEPA filter for ultimate allergy protection. Thanks to the automatic filter maintenance, the vacuum will continue to operate at its best for a long time.
On the other side, while the Dyson V11 Origin contains a sealed five stage filtration system, its filters require manual cleaning, making it less convenient.
Power and battery life

Jonathan Feist / Android Authority
One of the most critical aspects to any cordless vacuum is its runtime. The Tineco PURE ONE Station 5 is both powerful and packs great battery life. PureCyclone technology creates 175W of suction, and the main roller on the large brush head spins at up to 3,000rpm.
Tineco has equipped the PURE ONE Station 5 with a battery that is large enough to produce up to 70 minutes of runtime. Running in Eco Mode using the crevice brush will get you the best battery life. With the main roller brush turned to max, battery life will take a hit, but it should still be enough to clean any difficult areas.

Meanwhile, the Dyson V11 Origin offers 185 air watts of suction power in full boost mode. Dropping it down to eco mode, the battery on this stick vacuum will generate up to 60 minutes of cleaning time.
Both vacuums offer a dynamic mode that is made to balance power and battery life.
Smart cleaning

The Tineco PURE ONE Station 5 is equipped with the Tineco iLoop Smart Sensor. This system detects the floor type and the amount of debris on the floors to automatically adjust the roller speed and suction power, thus balancing cleaning performance with battery life. Further adding to the convenience, a color-coding system indicates what mode is in use.
The color change from the iLoop Smart Sensor system is more than just an indicator of running mode, it also tells you how messy your floors are. The vacuum detects hidden dust and debris in real time, so you know that you’ve picked up everything, and can plan around those particularly messy areas of your home.

The Dyson V11 Origin offers a medium mode, which does provide a good balance between boosted suction power for everyday carpet cleaning and battery life.
Headlights and hard to reach places

Jonathan Feist / Android Authority
In an ideal world, every place in our living spaces would be well lit and easy to reach, but in reality, we all have those dark and hard-to-reach corners in our homes. With flexible joints and a headlight, the Tineco PURE ONE Station 5 will help you clean your entire home, even underneath furniture and behind doors.
The 120-degree green headlight does an amazing job at illuminating debris on your floors. It’s like a black light for dust.

Cleaning industrial carpet
Navigating tough spaces is a breeze with the four-way tilting connection to the brush head. In the upright position, twist your wrist to angle the brush head left and right, lean side to side to get around objects, and tilt forward and backward to extend your sweep.
Tilting the Tineco PURE ONE Station 5 backwards lays it almost completely flat on the floor. This position allows the brush head to slide underneath most furniture, reaching deep underneath to get that hard-to-reach dust.

Jonathan Feist / Android Authority
The Dyson V11 Origin is equipped with a three-axis connector to the brush head. This also allows you to operate at multiple angles in both the upright position and while laying on the floor. It does not go as low as the Tineco vacuum, resulting in a little less reach underneath furniture.
Cleaning shootout
When we scour the spec sheet, we can see advantages to the Tineco PURE ONE Station 5 and Dyson V11 Origin, but nothing is more valuable than seeing them in action. Let’s put the vacuums to the test.
Carpet cleaning

Jonathan Feist / Android Authority
Cleaning carpets with both the Tineco PURE ONE Station 5 and the Dyson V11 Origin works well. Both vacuums glide over low-pile carpets with ease, working gradually harder as you increase the pile depth.
On the deepest shag rug, the Tineco PURE ONE Station 5 operated better when passing at higher speeds, and the main brush continued rolling at all speeds. On that same carpet, the Dyson operated better when moving slower, but only after the automatic safety shutoff of the main roller.
Overall, the cleaning capabilities of the vacuums were very similar, but the Tineco PURE ONE Station 5 seemed to do it with ease, while the battery life displayed on the Dyson V11 Origin very rapidly trickled down.
Window sills and delicate objects
The gentle brush attachment for both vacuums enables you to safely dust and clean delicate items like picture frames, and get into hard to reach spaces like window sills.
The bristles are longer on the Dyson unit, and the brush is wider. The narrower bristle pattern of the Tineco PURE ONE Station 5 allowed it to get right into the window sill, and more bristles were in contact with the picture frame.
The brush attachment on the Tineco PURE ONE Station 5 is a clip-on for the crevice tool. This makes it very easy to swap between the two for windows, photos, couches, and more. The brush slides up the crevice tool for storage, and can be removed entirely when needed.
The brush attachment for the Dyson V11 Origin is a standalone attachment. You can connect it directly to the head unit, or to the end of the stick vacuum tube. In either case, the shaft length was inconvenient for cleaning both windows sill and picture frames. The main vacuum tube was just too long, and the width of the head unit kept bumping into the wall when directly attaching the brush.
Cleaning couches and chairs

The winner here is the Tineco PURE ONE Station 5, as the crevice tool is a little longer, and doubles as the mount for the gentle brush attachment.
Cleaning under furniture

Jonathan Feist / Android Authority
Reaching deep underneath furniture is a crucial cleaning task for the overall health and cleanliness of your home. The Tineco PURE ONE Station 5 does an impressive job at getting low, able to push deep under your couch, chairs, and tables. If you keep these two stick vacuums upright as intended, the PURE ONE Station 5 reaches further.
The three axes of pivot for the brush head connection on the Dyson V11 Origin enable you to twist and swivel the head unit around to greater angles, so, while it does not reach as deep, it is the easier machine to operate in these scenarios.
Cleaning hardwood floors

Jonathan Feist / Android Authority
Cleaning hardwood floors is one of the easiest tasks for a vacuum. Dirt and debris has little to cling on to, so they’re easy to suck up. That said, the importance here is clean airflow. If there is rogue airflow to the sides, it will kick up dust and push dirt out of reach.
Luckily, both the Tineco and the Dyson stick vacuums do well at running over your floors.
The Tineco PURE ONE Station 5 has a larger brush head that includes two base wheels that prevent damage to your floors, and help with guidance. The Dyson V11 Origin simply has little bristles that contact the floor, so we’re concerned that once they wear out, the brush might scratch the floor.

Jonathan Feist / Android Authority
The next advantage to the PURE ONE Station 5 is the adjustable debris size control. The leading edge acts as a guard to prevent larger objects from getting caught up in your brush head. There are two settings. The smaller setting allows standard dust and debris to pass through, and the larger setting will allow things like full popcorn seeds into the cleaning chamber.
Another major advantage the PURE ONE Station 5 offers on hard floors is the handy green headlight. Being able to see in the dark is great, but the ability to seek out every last hair or crumb on your floors is a huge bonus.
Hair anti-tangle

Jonathan Feist / Android Authority
The Tineco PURE ONE Station 5 and the Dyson V11 Origin deploy the same strategy for their anti-hair tangle efforts. A comb is built into the housing of the roller head that swipes through the bristles on the main roller as it spins around.
After cleaning multiple surfaces, there are precisely zero hairs caught in the bristles of either vacuum brush head.
The Dyson V11 Origin comes with an additional brush head. This smaller brush head is designed for pet hair. If has a conical roller that spins the hair to the side where it can be sucked up the tube.
Storage
The Tineco PURE ONE Station 5 is stored on the self-cleaning base station. The station provides a charge, and houses the 2.5L dust collection canister. The base of the station keeps the vacuums off of your floor, includes two slots for additional attachments, and safely stores the electrical cord wrapped underneath with a slot out the back. This does require a floor space of approximately 12-inches wide by 19-inches deep, but can be relocated and adjusted anywhere you can plug it in.
The Dyson V11 Origin can be plugged in anywhere, but is designed to be mounted to the wall. A small charging dock is affixed to the wall, and the vacuum easily slides into it. This allows you to mount it at any height, allowing the main brush head to hang in the air. This charging dock is entirely optional, but it does offer two slots to store attachments, and affixes the power cord for easy connection to the vacuum head.
Final thoughts
After a thorough comparison, the Tineco PURE One Station 5 performs as well as, or better than, the Dyson V11 Origin for everyday usage.
The convenience of the PURE ONE Station 5, with the self-cleaning Smart Station and Tineco iLoop smart sensor, make the Tineco stick vacuum easier to operate long term. Knowing that your stick vacuum is ready to go at all times, and will continue to clean as good as the day you bought it with minimal maintenance, is extremely valuable.
