Weekly poll results: the Realme GT 7 is great if you can get it at a discount, GT 7T not so much
The Realme GT 7 and GT 7T may have been announced together, but last week’s poll suggests that they will go on very different paths in life. The GT 7 is proving to be quite popular, even if the MSRP is high, while the GT 7T has failed to convince most people that it is a good pick.
Starting on a positive note, the Realme GT 7 saw a third of the votes go in its favor and a third saying that it’s a good phone, but it’s pricey. However, that isn’t necessarily the case – we saw people in the comments saying that they got great deals on the phone. So if MSRP turned you away, have another look at what your local retailers are offering.
The Dimensity 9400e was one of the GT 7 features that got a lot of praise. Great battery life is another big plus. The telephoto camera, even with its short 2x lens, was also a highlight.
The Realme GT 7T was not received nearly so well – actually, with only 15% of the vote going in its favor, it wasn’t received well at all. The major issue seems to be the price as it puts a phone in a segment with strong competition. There’s only €100/₹5,000 between the GT 7T and the GT 7 and the hardware downgrade is quite significant.
The Dimensity 8400 is not a great fit for this phone – it’s a very capable mid-range chip, but you can get phones near-flagship chips for this price (or lower). And that includes the Realme GT 6, though its relatively short OS update window might keep people away.
